• Asprey Celebrates the 225th Anniversary

    Asprey, the ultimate british luxury lifestyle house, founded by William Asprey in 1781, celebrated its 225th anniversary with the traditional Asprey christmas party in the New Bond street London store.

    At the event, Asprey unveiled the new "coat of arms", which was granted to the company in recognition of the 225 years of ongoing commitment for unique craftsmanship and luxury, by the prestigious English college of arms. The newly granted "coat of arms" is also the theme of the collection developed by Asprey creative director Hakan Rosenius to celebrate the 225th anniversary.

    Among the 1,300 attendees, the guests included David Furnish, Tom Parker Bowles and Sara Buys, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Kelly Hoppen, Nigel Havers, Kevin Zegers, Tim Jefferies, Lucy Yeomans, Darcey Bussell, Heather Kerzner, Landi Swanepoel and Francesca Versace to name but a few.

    The Asprey New Bond Street store was adorned with long stemmed purple lilies detailed with Swarovski crystals, suspended from the ceiling. distinct aroma from purple water candles throughout the store and Cafe del Mar and Buddha Bar music, with different instruments playing to the main tune in each room, added to the atmosphere of celebration. Asprey cocktails and a selection of canapés were served.

    On the evening, Asprey displayed one of the world's most rare natural blue diamonds, of an estimated value in excess of $100 million. the spectacular 22.93carat 'cushion brilliant' cut diamond is classified as 'natural fancy vivid blue', and was lent to Asprey by a private collector to celebrate the 225th anniversary. This rare stone was worn by Yasmin le Bon and presented to a distinguished list of guests and celebrities, for the first time in 80 years.

    All guests received a gift inspired by the Asprey 225th anniversary 'london arms' collection, which included a travel companion notebook and a special jubilee publication on the 225th anniversary.

    On the same day, Asprey were pleased to announce the signed deal for the new store in New York at 853 Madison Avenue (between 70th and 71st Street) opening in spring 2007.
