The Premier League trophy is one of the most recognisable awards on the globe. At a height of 104 cm and with a weight of 25.4kg, the trophy takes over seven-hundred hours of craftsmanship to complete—made using the highest quality sterling silver and silver gilt. With meticulous attention to the design brief, the trophy rests on a plinth that represents the field of play, made with semi-precious green malachite gemstone. The imperious crowns and lions are crafted with silver gilt to complete this unique design. Each year, this iconic trophy is returned to Asprey’s silversmiths for restoration and the hand-engraving of the season’s victorious team that season.

Asprey was commissioned by Soccer Aid for UNICEF to create the Perpetual Shield, match awards, and medals for the most celebrated charity football match in the world. The England and Soccer Aid World XI teams are composed of former professional athletes and celebrities, all raising money and battling to lift the shield. It takes two-hundred build hours and is crafted in sterling silver with silver gilt detailing, with previous winners including co-founder Robbie Williams, Usain Bolt, Roberto Carlos, Sir Mo Farah and Eric Cantona.

Asprey designed and sculpted this trophy in collaboration with artist Charlie Langton, one of the most sought after contemporary equine sculptors. The brief set by Investec was to produce a work of art that embodied the spirit of ‘Greatest Flat Race in the World’. The trophy’s silver and macassar ebony base represents the undulating contours of the track, with three silver galloping horses. Each year, the piece returns to the Asprey workshop for restoration and the hand-engraving of winners.
