Ringo Starr's Chess Set
In 1973 Asprey, with designer Robin Crookshank, created a bespoke chess set for The Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr. Every piece was modelled on Ringo's hands.
The Named after Greenwich Mean Time, the GMT Collection embodies the spirit of British explorers and adventurers. As Great Britain developed into an advanced maritime nation, British seafarers kept at least one chronometer set to GMT in order to calculate their longitude relative to the Greenwich Meridian of zero degrees.
A core collection at Asprey’s, GMT is inspired by the modern day equivalent of those explorers. The leathers and materials used combine purpose and functionality with a quiet, discreet luxury. Bullskin and Nubuck Bullskin are simultaneously strong and soft. Being highly durable, it is a type of leather that improves with age and wear.

Asprey is committed to responsibly sourced leathers. We only use skins from sustainable sources.More about Sustainability
Asprey only produces merchandise using skins from sustainable sources, in accordance with the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (more commonly known as CITES).
We do not use animals listed in Appendix I of CITES, which includes species threatened with extinction. In the case of animals listed in appendix II of the CITES (species not necessarily threatened by extinction but for which trade must be controlled in order to avoid utilization incompatible with their survival) our skins are imported into the EU accompanied by an export certificate issued by the government of the country of origin.
The CITES convention provides a framework for legislation and process in the countries that are a party. Hence the actual rules and legislation vary from country to country.
The Asprey website only sells merchandise made from CITES listed animals within the United Kingdom and European Union. We do not ship to any other country under any circumstances.
