The Design

These nautical salt and pepper mills are made by hand in our workshops above New Bond Street, London, from coloured glass with a sterling silver frame. They refer to the left (port) and right (starboard) sides of a ship and are coloured appropriately. The (red) salt grinder is gilded inside to prevent corrosion.

Asprey Moments

CHURCHILL'S CIGAR CASES

Sir Winston Churchill proudly owned an Asprey crocodile cigar case. He took it with him to some of the most momentous occasions of the 20th century. The photograph shows him with the Asprey crocodile case at the 1945 Yalta Conference.
