The Design

The Thirst Extinguisher, its design modelled on a vintage fire extinguisher, was first added to Asprey's cocktail shaker range in the 1930s (originals from that period are now highly collectable). Today’s designs are made by Asprey’s silversmiths to the same exacting standards, using precious sterling silver (rather than silver plate, as used in the originals). Each shaker is assayed and hallmarked, providing assurance of the silver’s purity, as well as the name of the maker and date of creation. As with all our handmade cocktail shakers, each piece is the result of hours’ of skilled craftsmanship.
