Clear mouth-blown water glass made using the Murabo Reticello technique, with a criss-cross of blue coloured glass threads and blue edged foot.
Begun in the 16th century, Reticello is one of the most challenging and labour-intensive glassmaking techniques. Why does it endure? It’s a labour of love, with simply spectacular results, including a distinctive crisscross or spiral pattern of ‘milk glass’ or coloured threads. This particular hand-blown piece is actually composed of five different elements, expertly crafted and combined.
